Why The Delay?

Many of us are pondering as to why our Lord seems
to delay His coming. It reminds me of the ten Virgins
who slept even as they expected their Bride Groom
to come and take them into the Bridal Chamber.
(Matt 25)

Peter has plenty to say in 2 Peter 3
Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the
last days...and saying "Where is the promise of
His coming?

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as
some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward
us, not will that any should perish but that all
should come to repentance.  (verses 3, 4, 9)

God is doing great things in the world as He wants
to grab all of those whose hearts would be soft to
His call. Then Peter shares what is to come and
goes on to call us to walk in holiness.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the
night, in which the heavens will pass away with a
great noise, and the elements will melt with a fer-
vant heat; both the earth and the works that are in
it will be burned up.

Since, therefore, all these things will be dissolved,
what manner of persons ought you to be in holy
conduct and godliness. Looking for and hastening
the coming of the day of God...we, according to His
promise, look fornew heavens and a new earth in
which righteousness dwells.  (verses 10-13)

Reader, tomorrow I will share what God is putting on
my heart as a result of the two blogs this week. God
desires that all should come to repentance. He does
not want any to perish. We are living in such exciting
times where each day events show us how short the
 time really is.
