God's Silence

'When he heard that he was sick, he stayed two more
days in that place where he was. (Jn 11:6)

'If Jesus Christ is bringing you into the understanding
that prayer is for the glorifying of His Father, then He
will give you the first sign of intimacy--silence.' (OC)

CS Lewis once penned that his anguished prayer was
met by the slamming of a door and the dropping in of
the bolt--then silence. The characters in
The Narnia Tales understand that Aslan is not a tame
lion.

Our Lord shows up on His terms, but, oh, the love
that's revealed in the secret place.

Reader, is intimacy what you truly desire?
