Matthew 8 opens with Jesus walking down from the
mountain where he had just told the crowd how to be
a good Jew. Pretty daunting. Up walks a Leper. He
has broken the law in order to find Jesus. He is unclean.
He is untouchable. He kneels before Jesus and says,
"Lord, if you will, you can make me clean."
Jesus reaches out and touches him and says, "I will;
be clean."
Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said
to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone, but go,
show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses
commanded, for proof to them."
