Hard Words

...He said...'Follow Me.' The other said...'Permit me
first to go bury my father.' Jesus followed by: 'Allow
the dead to bury their own dead...' Luke 9:59,60)

Never apologize for your Lord. The words of the Lord
hurt and offend until there is nothing left to be hurt or
offended. Jesus Christ had no tenderness whatsoever
toward anything that was ultimately going to ruin a
person in his service to God. (OC)

Reader, sometimes I think that we have no idea the cost
of discipleship. Christianity today does not seem to reflect
the Christianity of our forefathers. Go into the works of
those who lived in the 19th century. The works of:
T. Austin Sparks; Andrew Murray; FB Meyer; Spurgeon;
EM Bounds.
