Himself

I came across this poem today and as I read
it through several times, I recognized deep
desire, but also I know that my flesh does
not agree. I wonder how you, my reader,
will respond to the poets cry.

"Oh, to be but emptier, lowlier,
Mean, unnoticed and unknown,
And to God a vessel holier,
Filled with Christ, and Christ alone;
Naught of earth to cloud the glory,
Naught of self the light to dim,
Telling forth the wondrous story,
Emptied--to be filled with Him."

I like that poem. Such a sweet reminder that we are nothing without Him and He can make something out of nothing!
