A Cry for Help

Hidden among the minor prophetic books is a gem
of only three chapters. The Southern Kingdom is
suffering and and a prophet named Habakkuk is
very afraid. God is silent.

"Oh, Lord, how long shall I cry for help,
     and you will not hear?
Or cry to you 'violence!'
     and you will not save?
Why do you make me see iniquity,
     and why do you idly look at wrong?
Destruction and violence are before me;
     strife and contention arise.
So the law is paralyzed,
     and justice never goes forth.
For the wicked surround the righteous;
     so justice goes forth perverted."
Habakuk 1:1-4

Do these words resonate with you? Does this
express your thoughts and maybe even your
words to God? Habakkuk is not afraid to
complain to God about what he sees. In these
short chapters, God reveals His glory and the
heart of the prophet moves from despair to faith!

Tomorrow's blog contains God's answer!
