Yesterday I shared some about a bride and groom
whose lives were upended almost before the ink
was dry on the contract. Right after the signing,
Joseph poured a cup of wine for his bride which
sealed their marriage.
'And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks
he gave it to them saying, 'Drink of it, all of you,
for this is my blood of the covenant which is
poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I
tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the
vine until that day when I drink it new with you in
my Father's kingdom. (Matt 26:27-29)
Our groom also sealed His marriage with us by a
cup of wine passed to his disciples. The cup that he
called, 'my blood of the covenant poured out for
many for the forgiveness of sins.' Jesus went on to
say that he would not drink wine again until we, His
bride, are gathered to Him in His Father's kingdom,
for He will bring us to the Father's house. The more
you study the pattern of the Jewish wedding in the
time of Jesus, the more you will understand Who it
is that we wait for.
Reader, this very season of Christmas brings us to
the next big prophetic event, the snatching away of
the bride. Just as a Jewish man of old suddenly came
to the place of his beloved with lots of noise and the
blowing of horns to take her away, so we will hear
the trumpet and a call to come away! We are told to
comfort one another with these words. (1Thes 5:11)
